Mitigation Plan begins for Pleasant Hill Community

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Seventeen homes in the pleasant hill neighborhood are scheduled for demolition, in an effort to begin widening the I-75/I-16 interchange.

Contractors will be in the homes removing materials in a controlled environment. Once the houses are cleaned out, they’ll demolish and remove them from the property.

The I-16/I-75 Interchange reconstruction project will improve the safety of the corridor by widening and reconstructing I-75 from Hardeman Avenue to Pierce Avenue and I-16 from I-75 to Walnut Creek within the City of Macon.

Deconstruction will begin January 3rd and is scheduled to finish in early February.
