Missing Woman’s Body Discovered in Dooly County

A body found in Dooly County is believed to be that of 85-year old Gladis Russell.

Russell and her husband Richard, an elderly couple from Ohio, were murdered last month. The killer admitted he dumped their bodies in Georgia as he was driving south.  The body of Richard Russell was discovered in Chattanooga on March 2nd.

A well digger found the body Wednesday morning, and police say it appears to be that of an older woman, by the clothes she was wearing.

Police have been in contact with authorities in Ohio, but say they will not confirm anything until an autopsy is done.

Residents down the road say they are shocked to see the story which began in Ohio, could have possibly come to an end next door.

“Well, it’s certainly kinda creepy, you know,” explained Alan Woodward of Dooly County. “(That) somebody of that nature would be so close to your home. You just don’t think about it happening around here.”
