Miss Macon, Miss Central Georgia competition set for July 27

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Miss Macon and Miss Central Georgia Scholarship Competition is now accepting applications for its 2025 competition.

The event is July 27 at Mount de Sales Academy in Macon. The event is an official open preliminary for the Miss Georgia and Miss America programs, meaning any eligible young woman who lives, works, or attends school in Georgia can participate.

Scholarship Opportunities

In addition to the title of Miss Macon 2025, the competition offers generous scholarships. The Miss Macon Scholarship Association will award a $500 scholarship to the winner. Wesleyan College has also partnered with the program to offer substantial academic scholarships:

  • Miss Macon 2025: $16,000 per year for four years

  • 1st Runner-Up: $15,000 per year for four years

  • 2nd Runner-Up: $14,000 per year for four years

These scholarships are contingent upon acceptance to and enrollment at Wesleyan College.

Who Can Compete

The competition is open to candidates who meet the eligibility guidelines for the 2026 Miss America competition cycle. Age categories are as follows:

  • Miss America (ages 18–28): Must be at least 18 by the time of the state competition and no older than 27.

  • Miss America’s Teen (ages 14–17): Must be at least 14 by the time of the state competition and no older than 17.

Additional requirements include:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and female

  • Must be single with no legal dependents

  • Must reside, attend school full-time, or be employed full-time in Georgia

Competition Details

The entire competition will take place in one day. A reduced room rate is available for contestants and families at the Marriott Macon City Center, the official host hotel. Talent selections are approved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Interested participants must also meet all additional eligibility criteria outlined in the Miss America State and Local Application & Agreement.
