Miriam Paris Refutes Claims of Teaming Up With Republicans in State Senate Race
Today, Miriam Paris is refuting claims that she is a Republican masking as a Democrat in the State Senate District 26 race. Last month, Republican and State Representative Allen Peake endorsed her along with two other Democrats before the primary elections.
“Mr. Peake made a decision on who he thought was best for the seat, and it just happened to be me, and I appreciate it,” says Paris.
Party affiliation doesn’t matter to Peake. He decided to support Paris as his choice to lead District 26.
“David Lucas is a great guy, I like him, he’s a friend, but it will be a Robert Brown do-over. It will be a grid-lock again for our community. If you want non-partisan elections, if you want consolidation, the opportunity to vote on it and let the people decide, if you want smaller council size, then Miriam Paris is the choice.”
