Miriam Paris And C. Jack Ellis Absent For NAACP Forum
The NAACP held a debate at Macon City Hall tonight for state senate and Macon mayoral candidates, but two of the candidates did not show up.
The group gave runoff hopefuls the opportunity to ask their opponents questions on important issues, but Macon Mayoral candidate C. Jack Ellis and State Senate challenger Miriam Paris never came.
Lucas had strong words for Paris for not coming to the debate.
“We all have to understand that the lady knows nothing,” Lucas said of Paris. “[She] cannot answer the questions and cannot tell you what she’s going to do. We need somebody to go to Atlanta to represent Macon, Georgia.”
Miriam Paris told 41NBC yesterday that she would not be attending the forum today because she wasn’t told about it until the last minute. And tonight, debate organizers told us C. Jack Ellis also didn’t come because of scheduling conflicts.
