Milledgeville receives grant money to improve sewage
MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Milledgeville is using almost $700,000 in federally funded grant money to make sewer improvements in the southern part of the city.
City officials received a 2017 Community Development Block Grant for $678,277 at a ceremony in October. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development heads up the program.
According to Mayor Gary Thrower, the money will be used to upgrade old sewage and drainage infrastructure along Cline Ave. and Oak Ave. He says Councilwoman Jeanette Walden pushed for the grant money to use in her district.
