Milledgeville Police arrest two for drive-by shooting

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Two men have been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred on April 1st, according to Milledgeville Police Department Major Linc Boyer.
Patrol officers responded to reports of shots fired on the 200 block of Magnolia Avenue at approximately 5:50 pm. When they got there, officers found a residence and a neighboring vehicle struck by gunfire. Shell casings were also recovered from the scene.
Witnesses told law enforcement they saw a white sedan speeding away from the area after the shooting. Through investigation, detectives were able to identify the vehicle and two suspects.
On April 2nd, at approximately 1:20 pm, officers located the white sedan while canvassing the Harrisburg community with assistance from Georgia State Patrol troopers and Georgia Bureau of Investigation Gang Task Force agents.

As officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the passenger, identified as 22-year-old Antonio Williams, fled on foot. A K-9 unit successfully tracked Williams down a short distance away, where he was arrested.

The driver, 23-year-old Nicholas Simpson was arrested after officers boxed in the vehicle on Harrisburg Road.
Both Williams and Simpson were identified as the suspects from the Magnolia Avenue shooting.
- Simpson faces three counts of party to the crime of aggravated assault.
- Williams faces charges of aggravated assault (3 counts), possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and criminal damage to property in the 1st degree.
