Milledgeville PD: Man stole money back after purchased four-wheeler didn’t work
Robert Cleveland is charged with robbery. Investigators said Cleveland attacked a man that sold him a four-wheeler that wouldn’t start. It happened Monday around 6 p.m.
According to an incident report, officers responded to the Tire Depot on Roberson Mill Road. The victim told officers he sold a four-wheeler to Cleveland, but Cleveland demanded his money back because it wouldn’t start. The victim explained to Cleveland that it was an “as-is sale.” The two got into an argument and the victim claimed Cleveland attacked him by slamming him on the ground and went through him pocked to get his money back, according to the incident report.
Officers later found Cleveland who told investigators he bought the four-wheeler from the victim, brought it back and they got into an argument, he got the money back and left.
Officers said they reviewed surveillance video from the Tire Depot which showed Cleveland reach down, grab the victim’s legs, slam him to the ground. The incident report claims the surveillance video also shows Cleveland sticks his hands into the victim’s pocket. The victim then stands up and hands Cleveland something out of his other pocket before Cleveland leaves.
