Milledgeville man shot in back of head while driving

According to a news release from the Milledgeville Police Department, Antonio Smith was shot in the back of the head while driving his car. His girlfriend and two month old infant son were in the vehicle at the time of the shooting.

The shooting happened as Smith was leaving his grandmother’s home on Lake Drive. After he was shot, he drove straight to the emergency room.

Officers say Smith was uncooperative with them as they tried to get information on the incident.

The police department says the bullet did not enter Smith’s skull, but it did graze his head and caused him to bleed profusely.

MPD believes this incident is related to other shooting calls officers have received from the 600 block of North Clark Street.
