Milledgeville Ethics Board Schedules First Hearing
MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The City of Milledgeville Board of Ethics scheduled a hearing date for the city’s first ethics complaint against a city councilman.
The committee will hold the public hearing on August 20 at 4:30 p.m. in the Municipal Courtroom at the Milledgeville Police Department.
This comes after Councilman Phillip Joiner asked for a continuance earlier this month. The hearing was originally scheduled for July 16, but Joiner’s attorney told the city Joiner had a health issue. Joiner told 41NBC he was not given proper notice of the hearing.
A downtown business owner Danielle Fields filed the ethics complaint against Joiner earlier this year.
During the hearing, Joiner and Fields can testify, present evidence, and call witnesses.
