Milledgeville city council attorney turns in documents to Attorney General
41NBC told you Sam Olens’ is investigating the city council for possibly violating the state’s Open Meetings Act.
Attorney William Noland says he doubts there was any malice intent behind the “meeting” in question, but he says he’s remaining as transparent as possible with the attorney general.
“If this is indeed a violation, it was certainly not a secret meeting. It wasn’t held at a clandestined location. This is people that are walking out of a public meeting. The conversation, arguably, should not have occurred, and we acknowledged that,” Noland said.
Noland prepared a written response, as well as provided agendas, minutes, and other council documents.
He says if the council violated the Open Meetings Act, the could be punished with fines.
