Middle Georgians Make New Year’s Resolutions

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – It’s the last weekend of 2012. Middle Georgians are ready to ring in the new year and rise to the occasion.

Many people make the popular New Year’s resolutions to work out, eat right or quit smoking. But a lot of people in the area are promising to be a better person in 2013.

Joseph Hatcher proposed to his girlfriend over the holidays and is dedicating his resolution to her.

“I want to be the best husband for my fiance come October,” Hatcher said, “and I want to be a great son for my parents.”

For people like Larry Bond and Nevonia Simmons, 2012 has been a trying year. Bond’s mother died this past year and Simmons lost her husband over the summer. Both believe 2013 will be a better.

“2012 was a life changing year,” Bond said, “I just hope to help more people than I helped this year.”

“I believe the people will turn their hearts to the lord,” Simmons said, “I believe 2013 will be the best year we’ve ever seen.”
