Middle Georgians Excited About New iPhone 5
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Well, it is finally here…the iPhone 5 went on sale today nationwide. The Verizon Wireless store on Riverside Drive in Macon opened its doors at 8:00 a.m. this morning to start selling the popular phone to its customers. Verizon’s district manager said the store and the parking lot were packed with customers.
The iPhone 5 has the 4G-LTE feature. According to Verizon, 4G makes the iPhone ten times faster than the previous version and twice as fast as regular Wi-Fi.
“The iPhone…it looks nice; I have been intrigued by it for a while. I like how it’s kind of thin, and the screen seems kind of wide,” said Judi Reummele, shopper.
Apple received 2 million pre-orders in the first 24 hours of announcing its release date; that’s more than twice the number for the iPhone 4 released last year.
