Middle Georgia’s vibrant music scene comes alive this weekend with events catering to different tastes.
Country & Western Fest at Grant’s Lounge
The Country & Western Fest starts Saturday at 5 p.m. at Grant’s Lounge in Macon. The event features an acoustic guitar pool, a full-band showcase and a vendor market celebrating country and western music. Admission is $20.
Tom Petty Tribute at The Society Garden
Later Saturday, at 8 p.m., The Society Garden hosts The Broken Heart Band, performing a tribute to Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Tickets are available at the door.
Y2K Karaoke Bash at The Hummingbird Stage and Taproom
Nostalgia seekers can head to The Hummingbird Stage and Taproom Saturday night for a Y2K Karaoke Bash. Attendees are encouraged to dress in late 90s and early 2000s fashion and sing hits from artists like Destiny’s Child, Blink-182, Britney Spears and *NSYNC. Doors open at 9:30 p.m., with the event running until 1 a.m.
Sweet Georgia Jamz Music Festival
The Sweet Georgia Jamz Music Festival takes place Sunday, January 18, at Henderson Stadium in Macon, offering a full day of music and family entertainment.
The lineup includes performances from the 69 Boyz, viral dance sensation Tay Cheesy, and local favorites Black Pearl, Troy Dillard, and The Mobb. DJs will perform throughout the day, with food trucks on site.
Family-friendly activities include a kid zone, petting zoo and entertainment for all ages. Children’s tickets are $5, while general admission tickets are $36. Attendees may bring tents and lawn chairs.
Gates open at 2 p.m., with the festival concluding at 7 p.m.
