Middle Georgia School Closings for Wednesday, February 12th

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The following school districts have announced school closings for Wednesday, February 12th:

Baldwin County – Schools for faculty and staff will be closed all day Wednesday, including after-school activities. A decision on Thursday, February 13th, will made at a later time
Bibb County – Schools closed for all faculty and staff on Wednesday, including after-school activities. A decision on Thursday will be made on Wednesday as futher information develops.
Bleckley County – Closed for students on Wednesday and Thursday. Staff will report on Wednesday as normal and will be notified about Thursday.
Crawford County – Open Wednesday.
Dodge County – Elementary schools will dismiss at noon, middle and high schools will release at 12:15pm Wednesday (afterwards the district is on winter break, until 2/18
Dublin City Schools – On Wednesday, Dublin City Schools will run as usual. But, all after school activities, sporting events and practices have been cancelled. On Thursday, there will be a delayed start. All staff and students will report two hours later. This includes bus stop times also.
Houston County – Closed Wednesday
Johnson County – School will be closed Wednesday for all students and staff, including all after-school activities. An any decisions on Thursday will be made at a later time.
Jones County – Closed Wednesday.
Laurens County – Open Wednesday.
Macon County – Open Wednesday
Monroe County – Closed for studednts and staff Wednesday, year-round staffers should report to work for a shortened work day. A decision for Thursday will be made Wednesday.
Peach County – schools and facilities will be closed for students, faculty and staff on Wednesday.
Puklaski County – Open Wednesday
Taylor County – Decision will be made each day at 6am.
Telfair County – School closed for students Wednesday, staff should report at 10a.m.
Treutlen County – Students dismiss Wednesday at 1p.m. No School for students Thursday, staff reports at 10a.m. Basketball Tournament games will be played tonight(2/11) at 5:30pm, 7:00p.m. and 8:30p.m.

Twiggs County – Closed Wednesday (Thursday: staff reports at 8, students at 9, Board meeting at 8am)
Washington County – Closed Wednesday for students and staff.
Wheeler – Close at noon for studnets and staff on Wednesday; closed on Thursday
Wilcox – Open Wednesday
Wilkinson County – Closed Wednesday.

Private Schools:

Christ United Methodist School – Closed Wednesday
Covenant Academy – Closed Wednesday.
First Presbyterian Day School – Closed Wednesday.
Gantt Pre-School – Closed Wednesday.
M.A. Evans Academy – Closed Wednesday.
Middle Georgia Christian School – Closed Wednesday.
St. Peter Claver Catholic School – Students will be dismissed at 12p.m. on Wednesday, there wil be no After-School Care.
St. Joseph’s Catholic School – Closed Wednesday.
Stratford Academy – Closed Wednesday.
Tattnall Square Academy – Closed Wednesday for students and staff. A decsision for thursday will be made Wednesday.
Warner Robins Christian Academy – Closed Wednesday for students and staff.
Warner Robins Montessori Academy – Closed Wednesday.
Westside Christian Academy – Closed Wednesday
Westfield School – Open Wednesday.

Colleges:

Central Georgia Technical College – All campuses and centers in the College’s 11-county service area will be closed Wednesday. The service area includes Baldwin, Bibb, Crawford, Dooly, Houston, Jones, Monroe, Peach, Pulaski, Putnam, and Twiggs counties.
Mercer University – Campus will be closed on Wednesday. No day classes will be held. A decision on Wednesday evening classes on the Macon Campus and at the Eastman Regional Academic Center will be made by 1 p.m. tomorrow. The Connell Student Center cafeteria will observe normal serving hours on Wednesday. The University Center will open at 10 a.m., but the food court will be closed.
Middle Georgia State College – Campuses will be closed until noon on Wednesday for faculty and staff. A decision on whether or not to close campuses for the entirety of Wednesday will be made that morning at 9am. If no further announcements are made, students and staff should report to campuses after 12pm as usual.
Virginia College – Campus will be cllosed on Wednesday for faculty and staff.

Health/Day Care Centers:

Annette’s Learning Center – Closed Wednesday.
Bright Star Learning Center of Macon – Closed Wednesday. Will reopen Thursday at 11a.m.
L and J Adult Day Care Center – Closed Wednesday.
River Edge Behavioral Health Center – Outpatient and administrative sites will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 12. All River Edge residential/crisis (24/7/365) sites will remain open.
