Middle Georgia Salons Help You Get “Pinked” for Breast Cancer

There is a fun way for Middle Georgia to sport pink all October to help bring awareness and raise money for breast cancer.  You can get “pinked” for the season as the 2nd annual Strands for the Cure is underway.  Wether you choose to add pink hair or a fabulous feather, or both, it costs $10 a strand.  Then at least $5 goes to Komen Central Georgia!

Macon’s Signature Salon & Spa is one of at least 10 Middle Georgia salons participating in this year’s strands for a cure.

“This is our second year doing it and it’s so wonderful to see the breast cancer survivors and other people who are wanting to help out and do anything that they can come in and get a pink strand,” said Nichole Mitchell, owner of Signature Salon & Spa.

For a list of participating salons or if you’re a spa owner who wants to get involved, head to www.komencentralga.org

In 2010, the strands campaign raised $6,000 for Komen Central Georgia!
