Middle Georgia Real Estate Forecast
With more than two hundred home foreclosures in Middle Georgia, real estate experts say it’s a buyers market.
“It is a great time to buy a home, prices are down – they’ve fallen. There are a lot of foreclosures on the market, but all prices have come down,” said Principal Broker of Washburn & Associates Dale Washburn.
Since prices of homes are down and interest rates are low, it may be a good time to cash in and get the most of your money.
“If you think you’re waiting for the bottom of the market – the only way you’re going to know it’s here is when it starts to go back up and as a buyer you have to look at the total cost of doing the deal,” said ERA Broker Kerri Swearingen.
Finding someone to represent you, the buyer or seller is key in the sales transaction.
“An agent’s job by law is to help the buyer buy a property at a price they’d like to pay,” said Washburn.
If selling your home, Swearingen says it’s a pricing war and beauty contest.
“Your house needs to be priced the most competitively it can be and it needs to be in the best condition it can be in to sell in the quickest amount of time.”
