Middle Georgia Post Offices Closed

Two Middle Georgia post offices closed their doors on Tuesday.

The Macon Mall Post Office and the post office off of North Davis Drive in Warner Robins are no longer in business. The Macon Mall location has been servicing Middle Georgia for more than 30 years. Employees and customers were sad to see the office shut down.

“Well it’s going to be a great loss for our community because you have a lot of people that come not to the mall but just here to this post office,” said customer Larry Corbin.

More than 1700 rented boxes are at the Macon Mall location and still about 150 customers have not put in a change of address.

“Mail that is left in these boxes here at the Macon post office will be moved Friday morning, February 18th to the South Macon Station,” said U.S. Postal Service Communications Specialist Nancy Ross.

All leftover mail not picked up by the end of February will be returned to the sender.
