Middle Georgia Organizations Giveaway Over 3,000 Free Turkeys

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Different organizations around Middle Georgia held events, giveaways and dinners to help families out in need just in time for the holidays. An estimated 3,000 turkeys and Thanksgiving boxes were handed out across Middle Georgia on Saturday.

In Macon, seven churches came together to give away more than 700 turkeys. People lined up outside of Unionville Missionary Baptist Church in freezing temperatures in hopes of getting a free turkey. Brittany Haynes said the free meal will help her family make ends meet.
