Middle Georgia Mental Health Group Home Faces Funding Cuts and Possible Closure

A tough economy means health cuts across the board, and Middle Georgia is now exception.

National Alliance for Mental Illness of Central Georgia, also known as NAMI, operates New Hope Center, a group home provides long term housing for mentally ill residents that can’t live on their own.

“We are in debt, trying to keep our heads above water,” says Kara Dover-Spuhler, NAMI Program Coordinator.
