Middle Georgia Groups Step Up to Help Alabama Tornado Victims

Several Groups across Middle Georgia have taken it upon themselves to collect supplies for families still suffering after devastating tornadoes ripped through Alabama.

First Baptist Church of Christ Church in Macon plans on sending a dozen members to the Birmingham area over Memorial Day Weekend to help clean up debris and bring supplies.

Another local group is hoping to fill a 53 foot trailer with clothes, food, toys, and furniture. The group Macon Impact on Tuscaloosa, is looking for donations until May 6th, and are even selling t-shirts to raise money.

Out in Houston County, three woman are hosting a community wide event on May 16th. The groups “Two Hens and a Chick” are looking for non-perishable items. The event will take place at 1pm at the Rite Aid parking lot on Houston Road.

Tomorrow, May 6th, Macon Impact on Tuscaloosa will host a packing event to get ready to send the items it has collected. It will start at 8pm at will be located at the Emmanuel 621 Foster Road.
