Middle Georgia florists prepare for Valentine’s Day
Valentine's Day is projected to see spending of $25.8 billion this year, according to the National Retail Federation.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and flower shops around Middle Georgia are gearing up for the rush of customers.
According to a recent study, 39 percent of people plan to buy flowers this year, which means florists are working around the clock to get flowers prepped and orders out the door.
Vanessa Glover, the owner of “A Touch of Glover” on Ingleside Ave in Macon, says she has an assortment of roses still available to purchase.
“We have the rainbow roses, red roses, yellow, almost any color that you can think of, with the exception of the blue –that’s sold out,” Glover said.
Glover says there’s going to be a big crowd come Wednesday morning, but she’s ready. Valentine’s Day is projected to see spending of $25.8 billion this year, according to the National Retail Federation, making it the third priciest holiday, but the day isn’t just for star-crossed lovers.
“Do something for your children,” Glover said.
