Middle Georgia Families Invited to Explore Education Options at School Choice Fair

Families across Middle Georgia will have the opportunity to learn about a wide range of education options during Middle Georgia School Choice Week, a two-week celebration highlighting different paths for student learning.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The events run from January 25 through February 7 and will wrap up with the Middle Georgia School Choice Fair for Transformative Education on Saturday, February 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tubman African-American Museum in downtown Macon.

Organizers say the goal is to help parents better understand the many forms of education available to students, including traditional public schools, charter and magnet schools, private schools, homeschooling, online programs, and microschools.

Last year marked the first School Choice Fair in Middle Georgia, drawing more than 350 attendees and over 15 participating organizations. This year’s expanded celebration includes community workshops, online discussions, film screenings, and family-focused events designed to provide resources and connect families with educators.

Several events will focus on topics such as dual enrollment opportunities for middle school students, starting a charter school, homeschooling strategies, and leadership development in education.

Organizers encourage families to pre-register for the events, though attendance is open to the public.

The Middle Georgia School Choice Fair on February 7 will bring together local school leaders, microschool operators, and education organizations to meet directly with families and discuss different learning environments available in the region.

More information and event registration can be found through the Middle Georgia School Choice Week website.
