Middle Georgia Con’s biggest year yet has something for fans of all ages
This weekend's Middle Georgia Con will bring more than 70 artists and vendors to Macon, along with several guests and a video game tournament.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – If you’re a fan of comic books, video games or collectibles, this weekend’s Middle Georgia Con has a lot to offer. This year, the convention will even have a few firsts for you to enjoy.
Michael Huffman is the owner of Fanboy Collectibles and Comics on Ingleside Avenue in Macon and president of Middle Georgia Con. His store began hosting comic book events in 2021. Since then, he says Middle Georgia Con has grown to be the largest comic book convention in the region.
“We were a small comic show in a hotel, and we’ve just slowly been working and building it up,” Huffman said.
It hasn’t stopped growing.
This year, the convention has expanded to a larger venue at the Edgar H. Wilson Convention Center in Macon.
It’s the first time the event will be hosted for two days. It will also include its first-ever video game tournament.
“We’re starting to dabble into programing, and we wanted to try something that makes people want to hang out for even longer than just shopping and meeting famous people,” Huffman explained.
The video game tournament will include games such as Mortal Kombat, Mario Kart, Smash Ultimate and Street fighter. It will be hosted on both days.
Middle Georgia Con will bring more than 70 artists and vendors to Macon, along with several guest actors and even a pro wrestler.
“You can meet the Million Dollar Man, Ted DiBiase for you wrestling fans,” Huffman said. “And we’ve got comic book artists, the guy that did the cover for Venom, Lethal Protector, number one.”
Other guests include Tony Amendola, Laurie Hymes and Dan Fraga.
Huffman says the all ages event is about engaging with the community. He says he wants to continue bringing big names to Middle Georgia and hopes the event will continue to grow each year.
Middle Georgia Con takes place Saturday and Sunday, January 13 and 14, at the Edgar H. Wilson Convention Center. Tickets are $12 for one day or $20 for both days. Kids 12 and under get in free.
