Mid Georgia Ambulance Earns National Accreditation

MACON, Georgia (41 NBC/WMGT) – EMTs and paramedics for Mid Georgia Ambulance are celebrating on Friday after earning a national accreditation for its quality of service.

The MGA earned top honors from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services.
It took two years for CASS to check out every aspect of the operation, including an on site review.

MGA says earning this accreditation is a huge honor.

“Only 152 ambulance services across the nation have received the CAAS accreditation,” Amy Abel-Kiker with MGA said. “That’s a lot considering that there are thousands of ambulance services in the nation. That’s a huge deal for us.”

E-M-Ts and paramedics earned pins commemorating the honor. Macon Mayor Robert Reichert officially declared September 14th as Mid Georgia Ambulance Day. Only five ambulance services in the state have earned this national accreditation.
