Mercer University’s Board of Trustees Approves 200 Million Dollar Operating Budget

MACON,Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)-Today at a meeting in Atlanta, the Mercer University’s Board of Trustees approved a 200 million dollar operating budget and authorized establishment of the Mercer University Health Sciences Center. The Center will enroll more than 17 hundred students, employ more than 400 full-time faculty and staff, and graduate more than 500 healthcare students each year.

“It will be a multi-campus, a multi-program unit that will allow us to coordinate more effectively our various health sciences programs in the School of Medicine, in the College of Pharmacy, and Health Sciences and College of Nursing and allow for expansion of health care programs around
the state,” said Larry Brumley, Senior Vice President for Marketing Communications.

The Mercer University Health Sciences Center will become operational on July 1st.
