Mercer Medicine opens in Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Mercer University renovates and transforms the old Georgia Music Hall of Fame Museum into a new office building.

Mercer Medicine is a multi-specialty physician practice in Downtown Macon.

Dr. Ajay Srivastava, Division Chief of Nephrology, described the building as a “one stop shop”.

The new medical office building offers both primary and specialized outpatient health care.

Dr. Srivastava said that aside from offering excellent care to patients, they’re also training future doctors.

Mercer med students will get to work alongside physicians to receive a hands-on learning experience.

The Dean of Mercer School of Medicine, Dr. William Bina III,  says the facility has about 25 physicians.

They specialize in primary care, cardiology, psychiatry, pulmonology, and many others.

Mercer Medicine has been seeing patients since the third week in June.
