Mercer Baseball Set for Orange and Black World Series

MACON, Ga. (MERCER RELEASE) – After almost a month of official team practice, the Mercer baseball team culminates the fall season with its annual intersquad Orange and Black World Series from October 18-27.

The series is slated for five games and all contests will be played at Claude Smith Field and are free to the public.

Orange and Black Word Series Game Schedule

Game One: October 18 at 6 p.m. – RHP Eric Nyquist vs. RHP Dimitri Kourtis

Game Two: October 20 at 2:30 p.m. – RHP Brandon Barker vs. RHP DJ Johnson

Game Three: October 25 at 6 p.m. – TBA vs. TBA

Game Four: October 26 at 1 p.m. – TBA vs. TBA

Game Five: October 27 at 2:30 p.m. – TBA vs. TBA

The make-up for both teams in the series was determined by a one-for-one draft by team captains. Seniors Brandon Barker and Austin Barrett represented the Orange Team and seniors Nick Backlund and DJ Johnson captained the Black Squad.
