Mentors Project Kicks Off 14th Annual Spring Break Cookout
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Mentors Project of Bibb County celebrated it’s 14th Annual Spring Break Cookout Tuesday. Members of the organization served food to hundreds of children and homeless people who lined up for hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, fried chicken, and ice cream.
Executive Director June O’Neal said, “It’s all about teaching the children to give back to the community; that it’s not all about them, it’s all about everybody.”
O’Neal added that she was thankful for the kid volunteers who gave up their spring break to come out and serve the community.
The event took place in the parking lot behind Loaves and Fishes from 11 to 1P.M. It was catered by the Macon Rescue Mission.
