MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Mentors Project held its Cherry Blossom Tea and Hat Competition last week at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.
Students got a chance to show off their Cherry Blossom-themed hats.
The tea even had a visit from Cherry the Poodle, dyed in pink and wearing her best Cherry Blossom-themed hat.
This is the second year of the Cherry Blossom Tea and the first for the hat contest.
“People are so happy to be out and about that there are going to be record numbers at the festival this year,” Executive Director June O’Neal said. “It’s a beautiful day today. The rain went away and everybody wants to run and play and wear pink.”
