Medical Monday: COVID-19 risks for children with asthma

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, people with moderate or severe asthma are at a higher of becoming severely ill if they contract COVID-19, better known as the coronavirus.

The CDC also reports that more than 6 million children in United States have asthma.

Dr. Katherine Duncan, a pediatrician at Medical Center Navicent Health, joined 41NBC News at Daybreak by phone, to talk about what kind of risk factors children with asthma have when it comes to COVID-19.
