Medical Center of Central Georgia to go Tobacco Free

A middle Georgia hospital took steps today to ban smoking on its campus.

The Medical Center of Central Georgia will go tobacco free on July first. It’s part of the “Just Breathe” initiative.

 Employees and patients will not be allowed to use tobacco of any kind on hospital property.

 Hospital officials say more than 20% of their roughly 5,000 employees smoke, and this initiative will create a safer environment for employees and patients alike.
