Meals On Wheels Honors Its Volunteers With Luncheon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Meals on Wheels of Macon and Bibb county, took some time Wednesday, to thank its volunteers with a luncheon.

In Bibb county alone, more than 1,000 people are served food through the organization. Executive Director of Meals on Wheels for Macon and Bibb county, Winnie Hinton, says there are more than 300 people who are still on the waiting list needing help.

“The home bound and elderly need so little, but they need that little so much,” Hinton explains. “So we help the people we serve get up, get ready, and they get fed, not only through good food, but they also get fed with friendship and love by our wonderful volunteers and staff.”

Meals on Wheels has been serving the community since 1974.
