Max Gresham Survives Wreck-Fest Race To Finish Fourth at Bowman Gray Stadium
WINSTON-SALEM, NC –Joe Gibbs Racing team driver Max Gresham rallied from an accident with 70 laps to go to finish fourth in Saturday’s Army Strong 150 K&N Series Pro race at Bowman Gray Stadium.
“It was definitely an achievement to come from the back to finish fourth,” said the 18 year old driver from Stockbridge, Georgia. “We’ve never raced at a place like this before. It was crazy out there.”
In all, 15 cautions slowed the race for 87 of the 156 completed circuits.
The effort was Gresham’s fourth-straight top-five finish and jumped him to third in the 2011 division championship battle, just 30 points out of first place.
Gresham and his No.18 Joe Gibbs Racing/Live Oak Plantation Toyota will next race on Saturday, June 11 is the NASCAR K&N Pro Series Slack Auto Parts 150 at Gresham Motorsports Park in Jefferson, Georgia.
