Bowen Matthews Sets New Fpd All Time Scoring Record

MACON, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – In a record-breaking performance on Senior Night, First Presbyterian Day School sophomore Bowen Matthews etched her name into the history books.

Matthews scored four goals to lead the Lady Vikings to a dominant 9-1 victory over John Milledge Academy, improving FPD’s perfect season to 13-0. With the first goal of the night, Matthews became the school’s all-time leading goal scorer—surpassing the previous record set by Rebecca Miller in 2011 during her senior year.

Matthews, who has reached the milestone in less than two full seasons, also broke her own single-season goal record in the win. Her four-goal outing Monday night helped her top the 51 goal record she achieved as a freshman.

With five regular season games still remaining, the sophomore striker continues to raise the bar for the program. The future is undoubtedly bright for Matthews and the Lady Vikings.
