GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The inaugural March on Main event will take place Friday on Main Street in Gray.
Registration begins at 5 p.m., followed by the ceremony and walk at 6 p.m. on May 9.
Event organizer Emily Coley said the community walk/run is a fundraiser to raise awareness and critical funds in support of the March of Dimes mission. The organization works to improve the health of mothers and babies by preventing preterm birth, birth defects and infant mortality.
Co-organizer Stacey Blanton said the event aims to unite the community, advocate for better maternal and infant healthcare, and provide vital support for research and programs that help ensure every baby gets a healthy start in life.
The event will also feature food trucks, live music and local vendors.
