Manufacturing Company to Build New Facility, Create Jobs in Dodge County

EASTMAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – One of the top manufacturing industries in aerospace plans to open a plant in Dodge County.

On Monday, leaders with the heat treating company Aremac announced their plans to build a new location in Eastman. The California-based company works on a variety of materials and does everything from treating metals for pliers to hardening materials for airplanes.

Aremac’s vice president Dennis Butler said it was the aviation campus and similar companies that attracted the business to the area.

“They have Heart of Georgia Metal Crafters and then a paint shop that put a business here, that makes it very convenient for us to operate,” Butler said.

The building will be located right across the street from the college. Eastman-Dodge County Chamber of Commerce president Judy Hemphill Madden is working to build a close relationship between the company and the campus. She hopes Eastman will soon become one of the aerospace hubs of the southeast.

“We are looking for more suppliers to come and be apart of this team,” Madden said, “they can help up us and we are helping them by having a skilled worker.”

Butler expects the building to be up by this summer. He hopes to hire as many as 50 people to work at this location.
