Man wanted for assualt, carjacking

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has identified 43 -year-old Jason Emerson Connell of Macon in the connection of 2 Carjackings.

The first incident happened Friday morning in the 900 block of Patterson Street, near Napier Avenue.

According to the deputies, a male, and a female were fighting in an older model, black in color, Mercedes Benz. The male got out of the vehicle and walked over to the passenger side and pulled the female out of the vehicle. During the scuffle, the vehicle rolled backward and over the female victim. The male suspect jumped in front of a passing Honda Accord and attempted to take the vehicle from a female driver, but was not successful. The male suspect fled the area and ran towards PioNono Avenue.

911 dispatch was notified of the incident and police arrived at the scene immediately. The description was given over the Sheriff’s radio for a white male, wearing a gray colored sweatshirt, sweatpants and a khaki colored hat.

26-year-old Ashley Day of Macon, the victim of the first carjacking was taken to the hospital.

While on the scene, officers received a call for a carjacking that happened at 12:12 pm at the Hudspeth Animal hospital on Pionono Avenue, near Roff Avenue.

The description of the suspect (Jason Emerson Connell) that was involved in the Patterson Street incident, reportedly approached a female employee at the animal hospital and asked for a ride. After refusing, the suspect assaulted the employee and took her car keys. The suspect sped off. The female victim received minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital.
