Man trying to rob Macon check cashing store gets shot by customer

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Someone tried to rob the Discount Check Cashing Store on Rocky Creek Road in Macon and was shot by a customer.

Investigators say 22-year-old Rarekcus Delbridge and another man fell through the ceiling trying to rob the business.

Delbridge then shot at a customer.

The customer returned fire and hit Delbridge in the left leg.

The other suspect ran away.

Delbridge is in the hospital and is doing fine.

He’s charged with criminal attempt to commit armed robbery and aggravated assault.
