Man shot in south Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Investigators are trying to figure out who shot a man on Sunday night in south Macon.

This incident happened just after 8:00 p.m. According to a news release, 43 year old Gary Webb was driving on Cedar Street when some kids threw rocks at his car. Webb pulled over to the parking lot of Bowden Homes to talk with the kids and parents, but was confronted by a group of men and hit in the face.

Webb ran away from the men and someone shot him as he was running. He went to the hospital and was treated for his injuries. It was reported Webb chased the kids with a knife.

Deputies questioned 34 year old Gerrod Prater who was on the scene. Prater was arrested for warrants in Houston County.
