Man Shot, Robber Still on the Loose

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Macon police are searching for an armed robber, after responding to a home invasion early Thursday morning.

According to MPD spokeswoman Jami Gaudet, Precint 4 officers responded to a person shot at the 300 block of Hortman Avenue, just before 5 o’clock in the morning. The victim was found on the floor inside his home with a gunshot wound to his back.

The victim reported that he was in bed when he heard his back door open. When he went to investigate, a man pointed a chrome revolver at the victim and demanded money.

The crook went through the victim’s wallet, shot him in the back, and ran away.
