Woman arrested after shooting and killing her husband

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A woman is arrested and charged with murder after shooting and killing her husband.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators say 45-year-old Tenita Shoats shot 43-year-old Vernon Shoats Sr. during an argument Sunday night. Deputies found Shoats Sr. with multiple gunshot wounds inside his Hidden Lake Apartment around 6 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say Shoats Sr. had a gun in his hand and somewhere between the argument, his wife took it and shot him.

Tenita Shoats will make a court appearance Monday afternoon.
