Man Shot by Macon Police Officer Dies

MACON, Georgia (WMGT-41NBC)- Macon Police are investigating after 49-year-old Sammie Davis, Jr. was shot and killed by a Macon Police Officer at the Kroger on Pio Nono Avenue. That’s according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones. Apparently Macon Police went to serve a warrant at the Kroger, and then got into a scuffle with Davis just before 4:00 Friday afternoon. Coroner Jones says David died at 4:40.

41 NBC spoke to a witness on the scene who says a Macon Police officer shot the suspect 4 times, but that is unconfirmed, and Macon Police won’t comment further.
