Man sentenced to 5 years after threatening to kill trooper and her children in Macon
The Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office said the sentence reflects the seriousness of the threats and the need for accountability.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man had his probation revoked and was sentenced to five years in prison after threatening to kill a Georgia State trooper and her children, according to the Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.
Marion Lester was sentenced following a revocation hearing in which the court found his conduct warranted serious consequences. His probation was revoked, and he was ordered to serve five years in the Georgia Department of Corrections.
The incident occurred during a traffic stop July 25, 2025, on Log Cabin Road in Macon for a vehicle with no tag and a suspected DUI, officials said. Lester was placed in the trooper’s vehicle when the situation escalated.
According to the district attorney’s office, Lester told the trooper he would “hunt her down and kill her” and said her children would be “dead, D-E-A-D,” spelling out the word. Officials said the threats were deliberate and targeted.
At the hearing, the court emphasized that threats against law enforcement officers and their families would not be tolerated and said officers must be able to perform their duties without fear for their safety or their families.
The Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office said the sentence reflects the seriousness of the threats and the need for accountability.
District Attorney Anita Howard released the following statement:
“Our law enforcement officers put on that uniform and report for duty with the expectation that they may face danger. No officer, and certainly no officer’s child, should have to fear for their life because of a traffic stop. Marion Lester chose to use those minutes in that patrol vehicle to terrorize an officer simply doing her job. Actions like this will not be tolerated.”
