Man killed in Monroe County after head-on collision

The driver of a Chevrolet Silverado identified as Gregory Smith, crossed the center line and hit a tractor trailer head-on.

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –  A man is dead in Monroe County after a head-on collision.

The crash happened Monday night near the intersection of Rumble Road and Highway 41.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado identified as Gregory Smith, crossed the center line and hit a tractor trailer head-on.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. There is no word on the condition of the tractor trailer driver.

The Sheriff’s Office says the accident is still under investigation.
