Man Jailed for Trying to Sell Stolen Chain Saws to Undercover Officers

MACON, Georgia (41 NBC/WMGT) – A stolen motorcycle and two chains saws landed a man in jail, after he tried to sell them to undercover officers, Thursday.

Jones County Sheriff Investigator Kenny Allen says 46-year-old Kenneth Reitz tried to sell two chain saws to a man who reported the incident to the Jones County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators set up a meeting place with Reitz, who thought he had a buyer. They met at a gas station on Shurlington Drive.

When the investigators approached Reitz they identified themselves as officers and asked him for his identification.

Reitz told them he didn’t have it.

During the sting, investigators also discovered the motorcycle he was riding was stolen from Houston County.

Reitz was immediately arrested and charged with driving under a suspended license and theft by receiving stolen property.

Investigators are still trying to find out who owns the stolen property.
