Man jailed for destroying Gordon city property

GORDON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Milledgeville man destroyed city property in Gordon, while feuding with his girlfriend.

Gordon Police Chief, Mike Hall says 28-year-old Derick Woods and his girlfriend got into an argument around midnight, Tuesday.

During the feud woods rammed his pick-up truck into her car on North Main St. and Hooks St., in downtown Gordon.

He knocked over a fire hydrant, hit a telephone poll, knocked down a stop sign and mowed down shrubbery near city hall.

Police say he left the scene.

Woods was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and a slew of other charges, including hit and run.
