Man in Custody After Laurens County Deputies Find Body

LAURENS COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Laurens County man is charged with murder after deputies found a man’s body in the victim’s front yard.

22-year-old Jesse Rowland is in the Laurens County Jail, accused of killing 51-year-old Michael Whittle.

According a news release, deputies say Whittle died of an apparent gun shot wound.

Rowland was arrested on a dirt road several miles from the crime scene.

Investigators are trying to find a motive for the murder, and deputies aren’t ruling out the possibility of additional arrests.
