Man drowns at Oconee River Greenway in Milledgeville

According to the news release, officers were dispatched to the Oconee River Greenway at approximately 11:19 a.m. on February 15.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man drowned in the Oconee River Greenway on Saturday afternoon, according to the Milledgeville Police Department.

According to the news release, officers were dispatched to the Oconee River Greenway at approximately 11:19 a.m. on February 15. The Milledgeville Police Department states that a man walked down the boat ramp into the water and did not resurface. Officers found the man submerged in the water upon arrival.

A deputy pulled the man from the water, and CPR was started. Atrium Health Navicent EMS arrived on the scene and transported the man to Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin, where he was pronounced dead.

No other information is being released at this time.
