Man dead after being struck by forklift at farm in Monroe County

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man is dead after being struck with a forklift on Monday morning, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Anna Watkins, the workplace accident happened at 543 Rumble Road at 7:04 a.m.
The man has been identified as 68-year-old Gary Patterson. Watkins says Patterson was struck with a forklift at a chicken house, which was located on a farm.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the preliminary investigation does not appear to indicate foul play. However, the case is still under investigation.
